Last night, John and I went allllll the way out to Queens Farm (yes, a farm - a 47 acre one - in Queens) for an Outstanding in the Field dinner. I had never heard of such a thing until it was given to us as a present this summer. It's a "culinary adventure" that brings together local farmers, chefs, and diners - "a restaurant without walls". There were about 150 of us - all at one very long table, sharing delicious & fresh food - literally in a field. It was pretty magical to say the least - and crazy yummy.
