Mr. Sun

We've been listening to a lot of Raffi. Do you know of him? He's a children's singer-songwriter who I had never heard of until our nanny suggested we listen to him. (When I told her I didn't know who he was, she asked me if I grew up here. Apparently my parents were not hip to the children's music scene.) Now Raffi is our go-to Pandora station. Our favorites are Baby Beluga and Mr. Sun. Although, we're still pretty smitten with Ernie's I Don't Want to Live on the Moon. Do you have favorite childrens' songs? I'd love to hear!

Laurie Berkner is the queen in our house! Check out The Laurie Berkner Band. Parents can actually listen to these songs and when you need to hear them over and over you just can't underestimate the importance of that.

We listened to him a lot growing up; his song about bowling with Burt has always been my favorite. They Might Be Giants is good music for older kids.My hubs works at Symphony Space and they do kids music on Saturday. You can keep abreast of what's rocking in the kids' music world.

Thanks BCraftie! We got them at Lulu's for Baby here in Park Slope, Brooklyn. They don't have a website, but are super friendly, so I'm sure they could help you.

Sharon, Lois & Bram did it for me back in the day along with Raffi, so I guess I was on page. Not sure if SL&B are still around, they did a show on PBS, the Elephant Show, it was #1 in our house. Love you A.Lorraine

I second They Might Be Giants. I personally also love the Curious George soundtrack by Jack Johnson and friends. My husband and I sent it to his niece for her birthday this year. When I was growing up we listened to a lot of Raffi and Jim Valley.
